You have arrived at the place where you can actually see the commission you will earn for a completed residential real estate sale. As a buyer’s agent, you are entitled to be paid for your time. Real estate commissions are no longer posted on the listing services. Real estate brokers no longer have a convenient method through the MLS to determine how much the buyer’s agent will earn.
That is until now with the creation of Real Estate Agent Commissions. Real Estate Agent Commissions is a site where the seller’s agent can post the commission available to the buyer’s agent upon the completion of a sale.
We have created a membership platform to ensure that only licensed real estate professionals have access to this information. As the real estate industry has been turned upside down by the National Association of Realtor’s decision to settle the Missouri case a substitute for posting commissions was necessary.
A listing agent need only sign into this website and post the commission for a specific MLS listing. Of course, we want to be sure that all real estate transactions follow the rules so we are not attempting to replicate the MLS.
Real Estate Agent Commissions charges a very modest membership fee. Details are available when you click on the Get Started button below.
Buyer agents can search for commissions
Buyer agents can log into the Real Estate Agent Commissions website. The agent will enter a search criteria such as MLS or address. If the listing agent has participated as a member of this platform, the commission offered will be displayed. With the new rules, we have set up the site to be interactive and extremely simple to view and enter data. We do not enter data for any party, all information that is being viewed has been entered by the listing agent, listing broker, or an assistant.
The commission structure may not be a simple percentage, it may be a fixed amount or other. There are two fields available, one for a percentage and the other is a text field for any other type of compensation.
We are now in a new world where “different types of compensation” may be considered. This site provides for an exchange of minimal information to avoid any possible issues with the U.S. Justice Department or any other agency.
The buyer’s agent commission is critical to the success of the real estate industry. You must know if you are going to be compensated for your efforts. Most of us have various opinions about the massive changes but we all agree, that the holes in the system must be plugged with legal and common sense alternatives.
Take a tour of Real Estate Commissions
Supplement to the MLS
We plan to reach out to as many real estate brokers and real estate agents as possible to share information that has been removed from the MLS. Blogs will focus on helpful topics including what others are doing to grow their real estate business. Our focus will continue to be on the Realtor’s commission. As mentioned above, it is not our intention to replace any services offered by the Multiple Listing Services or Realtors Associations.
We know that none of the professional real estate associations connected to the National Realtors Association can discuss real estate agent’s commissions in any way. Since we are a private business not engaged in the sale of real estate and not a member of any professional real estate association, we can provide useful tools for agent’s compensation sales commissions. Information about this new business model will be provided as we all learn about how we can work with the changes.
It’s time for a whole new vocabulary containing words that the government does not object to. Remember that “average real estate commission rate” that government agencies have constantly referred to? Gone. Even the word commission may be considered a “dirty” word by some as a result of the antitrust lawsuit. It’s time to reinvent our industry and Real Estate Commissions wants to help.
It is time to get creative
It’s important that since this is a new world, anything is possible a consequence which is part of the settlement we must live with.
It’s time for real estate agents to get creative with marketing as the housing market is in transition. As this website has been posted, market conditions in the United States are changing. Interest rates are higher leading to some challenging times for all real estate professionals. You are being challenged to be more creative such as working with loan brokers and your sellers to offer buy-downs to reduce the interest rate so potential buyers will be invited to buy.
This site is new but the people behind it are not. Decades of experience in real estate, website creation, business management, and many other disciplines have come together to create and keep improving this site and providing value for your membership.
We intend to add more value to your membership by including more content over time. Please excuse our brevity at the start. Bear with us as more buyer’s brokers encourage their colleagues to join.
